An apartment at Mandarin Gardens, Singapore

A three bedroom unit at Mandarin Gardens converted into a one bedroom, with library and study.

Designed for a mature couple with several residences in Asia, this unit in Singapore was completely gutted and re-planned to utilize bedroom spaces for other functions. Highlighting an existing collection of Asian artifacts and books, the spaces were made over with timber floors, timber batten ceilings and modernized architrave moldings giving the space the character of a finely detailed train carriage. An open Euro kitchen designed by Pininfarina with bar looks onto the dining room.

NASSIM MANSION

Untitled

A Nassim Mansion Penthouse, Singapore

An atmosphere of quiet, tropical elegance characterizes this home created for a Singapore businessman and his family of five.

More than 90 French doors have been incorporated into this residence that will not require the use of air conditioning for internal comfort. Each room has been repositioned within the 8,000 sq.ft. shell to allow for cross ventilation provided from easterly breezes prevalent over the Botanical Gardens of Singapore, enhancing the commanding views of greenery and the city beyond. Features within this five bedroom, six bath home include a specialized Euro-Indian kitchen that can easily service hundreds of cocktail guests or 20 for elegant formal entertaining in a flame lit dining hall. Custom furniture and fittings sourced from around the world include leather flooring, French limestone, and the latest in electronic sound, light, video and security systems.

The lounge area can accommodate up to 20 persons and is upholstered in a cool palette of cream Italian cotton velvet. A simple palette of Venetian plaster walls, gray limestone and Mahogany doors are offset by lush white orchids, lit from concealed laser pin spots at the ceiling. A Bulgarian travertine terrace, cross cut to reveal a subtle flowering in vein pattern, extends on three sides of the lounge, accessed by 12 sets of full height French doors.
