October 9-10 2024 Marti Eicholz When the remnants of Hurricane Kirk swept across Western Europe, The Odyssey sought refuge in Gijon for two days. The persistent rain was a vivid reminder of Belfast’s weather, making me feel both nostalgic and at home. Departing from the vibrant port of Gijon right at noon, the Odyssey set sail toward the enchanting city of Lisbon, Portugal. The journey was accompanied by an array of exquisite Basque culinary delights, each bite deepening my appreciation for the region’s rich flavors and cultural traditions. With every passing moment, I found myself more captivated by the beauty around me and increasingly grateful for the life I’ve chosen. |
