It is a vast expanse of saltwater, stretching across about 20% of the Earth’s surface. This mighty ocean creates a natural boundary, separating the continents of Europe and Africa on the eastern side from the Americas to the west. Its name traces back to Greek mythology, where it was known as the “Sea of Atlas.” Over time, people have come to affectionately refer to it as “The Pond,” highlighting its role as a connector between continents. Ranking second only to the Pacific Ocean in terms of size, the Atlantic is not only the youngest of the major oceans but also the saltiest. Its distinctive S-shape further sets it apart, winding gracefully between the landmasses it borders. The Atlantic Ocean plays a crucial role in global weather patterns, commerce, and history, making it an essential feature of our planet. The Atlantic Ocean is a vast and dynamic expanse, teeming with diverse marine life. From graceful sea turtles and playful dolphins to tiny plankton drifting in the currents, as well as massive whales and a variety of seals and sea lions, its waters are a true haven for countless species. This immense ocean serves as a vital hub of biodiversity, supporting intricate ecosystems and fostering life both above and below the surface. As The Odyssey sails east of Cape Verde, the crew embarks on an epic journey filled with both adventure and formidable challenges. Unlike more sheltered seas, the Atlantic’s open waters are often rougher, with higher waves and more unpredictable conditions due to the lack of surrounding land to break the wind. Each day I begin with setting clear intentions that guide my journey: dedicating time to walk and stretch, allowing both body and mind to wake gently. A few moments are spent in meditation, focusing on steady, deep breaths to foster inner calm and clarity. Uplifting, motivational music fills the air, infusing energy and positivity into the day. Small acts of kindness are performed, not only to support others but also to nurture my own spirit of generosity. Positive affirmations are spoken aloud, purposefully countering any limiting beliefs that may arise. Occasionally, glancing upward toward the boundless sky serves as a reminder of possibility and hope.
