December 4, 2024 Marti Eicholz The morning arrived with a gentle radiance, casting a soft golden light across the calm, glassy surface of the sea. The Odyssey, our steadfast vessel, anchored just off the exclusive shores of Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic, providing us a safe haven from the rougher waters typically found near Punta Cana. We boarded the water shuttle and glided toward the opulent resort village of Casa de Campo. Renowned for its breathtaking golf courses, five-star accommodations, and a lifestyle of luxury, this enclave is a playground for the elite — where fast cars roar along private roads, designer gowns with price tags nearing $2,000 grace exclusive boutiques, and the world’s rich and famous come to relax and unwind. As our stay unfolded, heartfelt farewells were exchanged with friends who had joined us for the holiday leg of our journey, while warm embraces welcomed new faces ready to embark on the adventure ahead. Before long, The Odyssey set sail once more, easing toward our next destination: La Romana, Dominican Republic. |
